Under guidance from BJA, the IACP paid for the costs of the Upper Midwest Community Policing Institute (UMCPI)'s Awareness and Prevention of Sex Trafficking training in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on April 13, 2018.
This four-hour course brings together casino/hotel employees to address the issue of human trafficking in Native American casinos. This course focuses on increasing awareness of the crime of human trafficking and victim indicators using a collaborative business model to detect and respond to incidents of human trafficking. The training also provides employees with the knowledge to control and protect potential crime scenes.
