This roundtable was focused on the utilization of NESS as a collaboration between ATF and the police department. Smaller breakout sessions discussed the challenges of tracking and sharing NIBIN related data. The goal of this effort was to provide the sites with the opportunity to network across sites, create relationships with peers from other jurisdictions and create an opportunity for peer-to-peer exchanges and learning to occur, especially in the current environment where travel is restricted.
The third CGIC Networking Roundtable: Intelligence & Analysis will be focused on how an analyst can support the investigator with intelligence products once a NIBIN lead is generated. The Detroit PD analytical team will walk through the steps that they take from compiling NIBIN lead summaries, to officer recognition, to social media monitoring. The goal of this effort is to provide the sites with the opportunity to network across sites, create relationships with peers from other jurisdictions and create an opportunity for peer-to-peer exchanges and learning to occur, especially in the current environment where travel is restricted.
