Peer Support training, team building and resiliency training.
Veterans Treatment Court, we could use educational classes and training on all areas for improvement. Our goal is to help court participants graduate the program but very few mentors are adequately trained to assist. The program is a great way to help our justice challenged veteran population and their time inside the program is the perfect place to do it. We have the opportunity to help our younger vets break the cycle of recidivism but in order to accomplish that task I do believe that our mentor core should be offered additional training ie certified peer support, recovery coaching, harm reduction, teambuilding, and advocacy. I'd like to know more about the types of training that you offer.
I am also the CEO/creator of Recovery-Revolution.Org, a 501c3 nonprofit designed to help bridge the gaps in a persons early recovery, provide sober living and treatment scholarships, advocacy and also to be the nonprofit arm of local treatment courts including veterans treatment court. I'd like to be able to offer more programs like coaching, harm reduction, narcan training, etc but finding support outside of social media has been nonexistent.

I like to think outside the box, I know what areas that I struggled when trying to adjust back into the civilian world and I remember feeling lost without my military family support, I do believe we can address 2 critical areas by re-connecting veterans to veterans: Suicide prevention and substance use. If the current data states that 17 vets per day commit suicide with 10 out of the 17 not being registered for care with the VA then most likely they will have no vet support in their life based off not being around the areas where you would meet other veterans. If we can help them realize that they are not alone and also that help is available then we can give them a reason to look forward to each day instead of drinking it away and putting themselves in a crisis mode.
