During this period, IIR provided support for the following information sharing projects. Activities and status updates for these projects are provided below.

IIR’s level-of-effort proposals and budget estimates for the following two projects were approved by DHS. Funding was identified in a second supplemental for this award, which received budget clearance on October 25, 2022.

1. NSI Indicator Review Project—IIR supplied subaward packets to START and NCITE, containing forms and a list of required documentation for use in preparing subaward agreements with these agencies. The estimated start date for this project is in mid- to late-January, once the subaward agreements are finalized. IIR hosted a planning call, on November 15, 2022, between IIR, DHS, and START and NCITE to review the scope and original timeline of the NSI Indicators Review project and discuss next steps.

2. SAR Scenario Training Package Project—IIR began work drafting deliverables under this award in December 2022. The deliverables and their statuses, if any, are provided below:

Your Role in Protecting Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties Video─Following the republishing of this online video in the last reporting period, to ensure the functionality for users to earn a certificate of completion, IIR developed an online tracker to illustrate, in real time, the total number of certificates earned since the video was republished, as well as the number of certificates earned by agency. By the end of this reporting period, 3,840 certificates of completion were earned. More than 1,800 of these were earned by the Michigan State Police who were contacted and a success story developed and featured in the CICC’s Five in 5 weekly newsletters.

P/CRCL Recommendations for Open-Source Social Media Video─This project was tabled by DHS.
