This is a series of regular interactive Zoom roundtables to bring together different functions from across CGIC sites, including prosecutors, crime analysts, investigators/CGIC site leads as a way to strengthen the CGIC community of practice. This series of roundtables will be centered on Community Engagement to support the development of a unified community outreach program that focuses on explaining the role of a CGIC and how community awareness is a critical component of the overall CGIC process and long-term sustainability.

Facilities must undergo formal PREA compliance audits once during each three-year audit cycle in order to remain compliant with PREA. This interactive workshop will give agency and facility staff assigned to PREA-related duties for all confinement types an opportunity to learn about and discuss the Department of Justice (DOJ) PREA Auditor Handbook (Handbook), which is a critical audit preparation resource that many practitioners overlook, assuming it is only helpful to auditors. The workshop will offer insight into how agency/facility staff can use the Handbook

This virtual workshop is designed to assist staff who have roles and responsibilities for PREA implementation in their facilities. The goal of this workshop is to give attendees implementation guidance on four challenging PREA standards and learn ways to overcome these challenges and successfully implement these protocols.
During the training, we will focus on PREA Standards 115.16 (Inmates w/disabilities), 115.31 (Employee Training), 115.33 (Inmate education), and 115.53 (Access to Outside Confidential Support Services). Together, we will explore

The focus of the session was to share practical steps to cultivate work between tribes and state agencies. The dialogue included best practices for establishing and strengthening partnerships and critical data sharing to reduce juvenile justice contact among tribal youth. Panelists: Catherine Retana, Tribal Law and Policy Institute, Tasha Fridia, Tribal Youth Resource Center, Bridget Coppersmith, SAG, South Dakota, Red Dawn Foster, State Senator - District 27, South Dakota. Completed on 11/19/2020 – 47 non-staff participants.

The agency coordinator contacted CHJ requesting additional information about a webinar we conducted on drug-endangered children. As a result, the agency expressed a need for TA services for their program development.

The National Police Foundation will be hosting its CompStat360 organizational effectiveness webinar with Wendy Stiver, Director of Research and Procedural Justice and Deputy Chief Tarrick McGuire, for police agencies who want to improve their department’s organizational effectiveness strategies through the use of data. CompStat360 is a performance management tool for law enforcement agencies that fosters the use of a wide range of data to inform strategic problem solving.

The National Police Foundation will be holding a CompStat360 webinar, hosted by Melissa Reuland of the Vera Institute of Justice, for police agencies who want to improve their department’s community engagement using data. This webinar will provide an overview of CompStat360, its reliance on community partnerships, identify key lessons for selecting and engaging community members in CS360 work, and will provide approaches to overcoming challenges.
