GRA training and TA for Idaho Juvenile Justice Information Sharing Pilot Project to support implementation of GRA- and NIEM-conformant web services.
The three-day NIEM Technical Training curriculum is designed for developers and practitioners in the field to provide the information needed to enable them to build applications using NIEM and use it effectively. The training course guides students through NIEM in a structured process and will cover the following modules:
The IJIS Institute Knowledge Center provides clear and comprehensive support of NIEM data standards to the information sharing community.
The NISS Help Desk shares their experience and expertise and is able to resolve ticketed items in a timely fashion with quality feedback that addresses the user's request.
Resolved issues are published on the Knowledge Center website so that all users may leverage the information. Issues range from basic feasibility research to detailed Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) efforts.
The New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) and the Essex County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) plan to implement a pilot solution to streamline the current warrant data process. The pilot solution will consist of the implementation of a two-way interface to enable the electronic transfer of data and provide for automatic system updates of warrant information between the identified state systems and the Warrant Module of the ECSO’s Records Management System (RMS). The goal is to have this pilot program implemented in the remaining twenty (20) counties in the state.
This full day training session will concentrate on advanced NIEM Technical Concepts. A primary point of focus will be the changes from NIEM 2.1 to NIEM 3.0, including modifications to augmentation, reference elements, and content-bearing elements. The training will also provide a review of NIEM conformance and NIEM technical architecture. The existing NIEM tool set will be reviewed and demonstrations provided.
This in-depth technical training course provides an overview of NIEM and practical implementation techniques, as well as hands-on exercises reinforcing key NIEM concepts. Lessons will guide participants through the XML terminology and concepts specifically used by NIEM, as well as the process of building Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) through instructor-led exercises.
The purpose of this training engagement was to provide NIEM 3.0 technical training to a variety of Illinois Criminal Justice practitioners who were interested in implementing NIEM. An executive briefing was also provided for managers and non-technical staff to explain the benefits of NIEM adoption and use.
