Provide individual coaching on data entry, data tracking, and outcomes reporting utilizing a community-oriented database, CaseMGR, to track the interventions of community-based organizations, the accomplishments of the participants they serve, and the impact they are having in their communities. In particular, this work supports direct service by considering what the data tells us about participant needs and achievements, utilizing that information to design effective program models, and communicating those outcomes to funders and other stakeholders.

In an effort to better understand the training and technical assistance (TTA) needs of the community violence intervention (CVI) field, the READI National Center for Safe Communities has committed to providing direct TTA to up to 25 community-based CVI organizations over the next 3 years. Each year, the Center will select up to 8 organizations who will then receive 5 months of free group-based and individualized training, workshops, and consultation. Tools, trainings, and materials developed for these cohorts, once tested and proven useful, will be shared with the broader CVI field.

Technical assistance (TA) is built into the twice-per-month site visits with each Community Partner and memorialized in meeting notes and data entry, fiscal and program processes, data collection, and reporting. A full-time LCCL staff person will provide the technical support along with an internal team of subject matter experts. The TA will be ongoing and responsive to Community Partner needs to ensure grant requirements are met. Often in this process, misunderstandings are cleared up or the need for re-training is identified, both of which are examples of proactive TA.
