The JIRN DCRA TTA team provided TTA via email to about 40 different states via 76 emails. This included answering questions about DCRA and providing feedback about DCRA implementation plans and update reports, and discussing state DCRA compliance.
The TTA team and a subject matter expert is assisting Lafayette (LA) Police Department in crime analysis in efforts to proactively address and prevent violent crime. This TTA includes assisting the department in starting a crime analysis unit.
The Seattle City Auditor requested TTA from PERF specific to Roadmap step #2 – Identifying the key people and places driving the violence. Specifically, the Seattle City Council was trying to understand common patterns relative to the people and places driving gun violence. Seattle was also interested in learning what models were used in other jurisdictions to educate community leaders about the violence in their communities.
American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) through a partnership with the Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR), in support of the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s Student, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Program, hosted a webinar to educate juvenile probation officers, and other stakeholders, on their role in preventing and reducing violence in K-12 school populations.
The SAA asked for specific anti- school-gun violence relevant SCIP examples of approved subawards. NCJA provided a wealth of information about what other states are doing in this area and also what is likely possible based on our understanding of the grant.
IL reached out asking a few questions regarding subaward approval from: one pertaining to budget and the other pertaining to responding to the newest. We were able to offer them the support they needed by answering their questions.
Following up on a conversation that started at NCJA's annual criminal justice forum, we shared the contact information for the JHU TTA providers with the DC SAA so that they could explore potential uses for SCIP funds.

We provided MA with 4 examples of strong subaward submissions which included varying level of detail across the subawards.
We provided the SAA's office with information on the formatting of subaward budgets. Specifically, we shared 3 subaward examples that had particularly strong budget components.
