Cases responded to and closed during the reporting period July - December 2024 were 409.
During this period, an online forensic interview training was scheduled. ACES training is pending for staff. The coach reviewed and made recommendations on the PREA training. A contract was approved to do camera connectivity upgrades at the Caliente facility. All other camera installations have been completed. The remainder of funds will be spent on body worn cameras to assist with video monitoring. A GAM will be submitted. The background check for Signs of Hope (victim advocacy organization) staff are complete and the training was created and is ready to be delivered.
OPSO's grant technically expired on 3/31/24. During this reporting period, the coach communicated with Ania Dobrzanska at BJA to check on whether OPSO had submitted their delinquent reports and request for a no-cost extension. During the December site-based team meeting, Ania informed the coach that OPSO still hadn't submitted any of their outstanding reports or the request for a no-cost extension.
During this review period, the coach met with the site monthly and via email during the reporting period. The video they produced was in the final editing phase and was just awaiting the Director's review and approval. The coach viewed the video early in the quarter. While technically the video was fine, and covered topics required by the PREA standards, overall the video was a disappointment.
