NCJA’s Criminal Justice Executive Leadership Academy NCJA’s Criminal Justice Executive Leadership Academy is designed to provide State Administering Agency (SAA) and other criminal justice agency leaders and senior staff with the skills necessary to lead effectively, to enhance their capacity as administrators and to position their agency to address emerging justice system challenges. This 12-month intensive program offers group instruction, individualized coaching and networking with other program participants in executive leadership, personal and professional development, and explores topics ranging from criminal justice reform and development of community-based services, to ethics, policy development, strategic planning, performance management and grant administration. The monthly trainings will use a variety of adult learning techniques including in-person training, webinars, and conference calls. The Academy class size is limited to 12 participants with varying degrees of experience as an SAA, providing opportunities for peer-support, mentoring and individualized coaching.
This on-site training, held July 17, 2019 at the Darcy Hotel in Washington, DC. This training included three modules: Criminal Justice Reform, Community Services Part 2 and Personal & Professional Development 2.

Call with contractors presenting on July 17. Review of curriculum and proposed learning objectives. The presenters worked to align their presentations and to achieve desired learning goals. Advanced reading materials were collected from presenters and shared with Leadership Academy participants in advance of the classroom session held on July 17.
