In March, final data analyses were conducted on Oregon Health Authority (OHA) data. Medicaid and state hospital data were matched to the criminal justice data that was provided to OHA in December 2018. Research staff reviewed the analysis to incorporate into public presentations and discussions.

Research - Monthly Log:
• 3/4: Renewed honing of estimates of status quo jail, emergency department, and state hospital costs associated with creation of incremental piloting of policy package.
• 3/5: Developed slide collection of key analyses and began detailed methodology documentation.
• 3/7: Corresponded with OHA to tie up loose ends on data presentations.
• 3/12-3/20: Reviewed policy summary document and various tables and graphic visualizations; continued honing of status quo cost estimates and impacts from policy package.
• 3/14-3/27: Began communications with CJC and CSG Justice Center staff regarding potential data-sharing arrangement with CJC pursuant to appropriate sign-off by counties that provided jail data.
• 3/15: Received updated policy costs and incorporated them into overall cost and impact estimates.
• 3/19: Corresponded with OSH to explain state hospital assumptions and intended use of estimates.
• 3/20: Reviewed draft handouts on key findings, recommendations, and impacts.
• 3/28: Sent emails to source counties regarding data-sharing request for arrangement with CJC.
