NCJA's Byrne JAG Data Office Hours program, created and facilitated as a partnership with SEARCH, helps state administering agencies with data related needs and challenges and is designed to be extremely customizable to the needs of the SAAs and their data-related baselines. During our TTA monthly check-in with the Virgin Islands on 5/10, they mentioned needing help with data. They have been trying to create a SAC with little traction for the past few years. Data is difficult to come by and is only available upon request. When they receive data, there is no one to analyze it. Specifically, they need help collecting quality data and ultimately storing and analyzing it so that it is in a useable format. SEARCH helped us with this particular element of strategic planning under the Data Office Hours project. SEARCH joined the check ins to ask questions about data collection, usage and availability, and to provide guidance. Using data from the strategic plan, SEARCH created some example visualizations through Power BI. Progress stopped there for the moment, so any future progress regarding this project will appear under a separate entry.
