The Buffalo Police Department has lost 5 officers to suicide over a two-year period. An in-person meeting was held in Buffalo with the command staff and wellness teams. A detailed assessment from these meetings has been prepared and the self-paced virtual SAFLEO Executive Leadership Workshop has been scheduled to take place during the weeks of July 31st through August 11th and the Virtual roundtable discussion will take place on August 15, 2023. We expect to continue working with the Buffalo Police Department with agency wide training and technical assistance to assist in their wellness program development and culture.
