Objective 1: Individualized Technical Assistance to Grantees
In December, CSG Justice Center staff continued to meet with WADOC staff to discuss the progression of partnering with the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) regarding completing the legislation proposal for the Superior Court DV Court. WADOC's legal department successfully executed the scope of work agreement with the YWCA. The YWCA is actively working with Superior Court judges and court administrators on the scope of the court's implantation, including procuring letters of support for the legislation. YWCA continued to have independent and collaborative meetings with legislative partners and the Washington State Coalition on DV on the creation of proposal design and concept regarding the Superior Domestic Violence Court.
WADOC completed the review of the grant's budget and identified approximately $114,000 in funding to be reallocated. WADOC anticipates submitting a Grant Award Modification (GAM) request to reallocate the funding into the following line items: to purchase cellphones for select participants, housing assistance for participants, domestic violence course fees for participants, and conference travel for staff. The GAM will also remove Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Coalition (SRDVC) as a sub-awardee on the grant and reduce that funding, reallocating it to YWCA as a sub-awardee on the grant for the work that they are doing for the legislation proposal.
WADOC reported that they received the no-cost extension (NCE) guidance document via email on November 27, 2024, but are planning to submit the GAM before applying for the NCE.
Of the 30 participants enrolled in the program, 7 have failed to report, 5 are detained for new charges, 6 are detained for sanctioned violations, and 14 are actively engaged in the program.
