We delivered a 12-minute presentation introducing the funding agency, the rationale for establishing the DDRC, and the center’s mission to integrate diverse datasets, develop substance use risk metrics, and demonstrate how researchers and the public will be able to utilize DDRC data for studies and evidence-based decision-making.

We presented a session showcasing the practical applications of the Southern Regional Drug Data Research Center (DDRC). The session outlined the range of data that will be available on the DDRC platform and demonstrated the planned format for future visualizations using Power BI. Attendees were introduced to user-friendly tools designed to promote public engagement and learned how researchers and the public will be able to utilize the platform for studies and evidence-based decision-making.

We presented a session introducing the Southern Regional Drug Data Research Center (DDRC), a centralized data repository covering opioid and drug data across 17 southern U.S. states. The session highlighted the DDRC’s mission to consolidate data, support evidence-based decision-making, and provide resources for community interventions. Attendees learned about the center’s data frameworks, integration strategies, and how these efforts inform public policy and resource allocation. This TTA was simultaneously presented onsite in a conference room and broadcast via Zoom.

This roundtable brought together law enforcement leaders, subject matter experts, and community stakeholders to discuss strategies and best practices for responding to mass violence incidents. The event focused on enhancing the safety and wellness of officers, first responders, and the community through peer-to-peer support and collaboration. Key topics included effective communication with the media and community members, mental health support for victims and survivors, and coordination with local, state, and federal partners.

“Transforming Corrections: How Research and Analytics Can Improve Prison Safety” webinar, the second session in the Virtual Academy webinar series, which featured a presentation by Sarah Fineran (Research Director, Iowa Department of Corrections) and Dwain Caldwell (Chief Data Officer, Iowa Department of Corrections) and was attended by 118 corrections analysts, research directors, and other interested people. (118 participants representing 33 agencies)
