The National Police Foundation will be hosting a CompStat360 webinar on Officer Well Being and Mental Health hosted by Major Wendy Stiver, formerly of Dayton, Ohio PD, for current NIJ LEAD scholars. The webinar will present on and facilitate a discussion around the topic of using CompStat360 to address officer wellbeing and mental health. Major Stiver will serve as lead panelist of the webinar, accompanied by 2 additional panelists who have used data to support their officers and staff during times of natural disaster, crisis response, and mass shootings.

The National Police Foundation (NPF) welcomes panelists Ben Horwitz and Dr. Mallory O’Brien as they present on the importance of integrating public health information into a department’s CS360 approach to build the foundations for a sustainable relationship with public health stakeholders. The webinar will focus on 2-3 public health crisis examples and how comprehensive data collection through CS360 can aid a department in evidence based proactive decision making.

Knowledgeable court clerks are at the core of any successful, efficient tribal court. As a response to the growing needs of tribes and a specific request from FY 2016 CTAS Purpose Area 3 grantees this training will cover 1) court clerk basics and introductory material; 2) specific processes of taking a case from beginning to end in tribal court; 3) skills for managing, evaluating, and auditing cases; 4) Is your courtroom properly set up and safe; 5) How to avoid conflicts of interest when servicing in dual roles within the tribe and the court.

Kelly Stoner planned and provided a one day onsite training to the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. They discussed: the history, reauthorizations and provisions of the Tribal Law and Order Act and the Violence Against Women Act; VAWA SDVCJ implementation; tribal jurisdiction issues; as well as protection orders and full faith and credit.

Attended and participated in a BJA Officer Safety and Wellness Provider Collaboration Meeting on Nov. 13, 2019 in Washington D.C. At this meeting, there was discussion on the current and new program initiatives as well as a group discussion on trends for the future.
