Judge Diane Cabrera requested TTA for the Lower Elwha S'klallam Tribe (FY20 CTAS - Purpose Area 3 grantee) in February 2024. Wellness Court Specialist Kristina Pacheco set up an initial meeting on March 11, 2024, which resulted in a request for onsite TTA for training of new team members and THWC coordinator, particularly on the Tribal Key Components, team building, culture and language in court proceedings, and a new approach in blending with their Family Healing to Wellness Court.

TLPI has been selected to self-certify Conference Request forms but required to submit a form per the formal process for the Rise25 conference. The form was submitted December 2024 and is still pending at the end of the reporting period. The conference dates are May 28-31, 2025.

This reporting period a Sister Court visit occurred: Sister Court Salt River Pima visited Mentor Court New Mexico Urban Native American Healing to Wellness Court, and a visit by Sister Court Cher-Ae Heights Community of the Trinidad Rancheria at New Mexico Urban continues to be planned.

Cher-Ae Heights Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria is a FY22 grantee. TTA for Trinidad continued this reporting period: sharing of cultural assessment tools included one from Blackfeet Nation and one from Thunderbird Partnership; and with Sister Court interest to be paired Mentor Court NM Urban Healing to Wellness Court, planning continued to arrange a virtual and in-person site visit. TTA will continue next reporting period.

Throughout the reporting period, Center staff continued to host virtual calls with the sites from the FY22, on an as-needed basis. This included conducting outreach with sites to encourage them to attend a regional convening, responding to their inquiries and keeping them abreast of national developments via the Court-Builders listserv, and providing individual consultations as needed. Last reporting period, in conjunction with subject matter expert staff from the Center’s data analytics and applied research team, TTA staff presented an interactive webinar on Data Collection and Analysis during this reporting period. This webinar included a guided exploration of the Center’s publication called Building the Research Base: An Evaluation Blueprint for Community Courts, which details the conventional and unconventional data points that effective community courts should be tracking daily.

BJA has approved April 30 - May 2, 2025 for the Community Justice Conference. Planning is well underway and a draft conference agenda has been sent to BJA. During this reporting period, a venue was selected, a registration link was created, a media plan was created, and speakers began to be engaged. There is substantial support from across the Center, including at the Executive level, to help curate and execute a meaningful and engaging conference in 2025.

MJO hosted 7 members of the South Dallas Community Court to inform about MJO programming. MJO Staff provided an overview of the ranger of alternatives to incarceration offered at Manhattan Justice Opportunities, with a focus on Felony ATI and Restorative Justice
