The Anniston, Alabama Police Department requested travel support for representatives to attend a Shooting Review Peer Exchange at the Savannah, Georgia Police Department. The requestor withdrew the request.
The Wichita, Kansas Police Department requested sample policies and best practices in order to develop a training program for the appropriate use of police rifles. BJA NTTAC collected and provided resources to the requestor.
The Phoenix, Arizona Police Department is requesting assistance to develop and implement a community engagement strategy. Nola Joyce was selected to fulfill the request and provide community engagement strategies to The Phoenix, Arizona Police Department in Phoenix, AZ on March 18-21, 2019.
BJA requested travel support for representatives from Anniston, Alabama to attend a Shoot Review Peer Exchange at the Savannah, GA Police Department. BJA NTTAC provided travel support to 5 representatives from the Anniston Police Department to attend the Peer exchange the week of September 17th.
Curriculum development for the selection of qualified personnel and the creation of a training program inclusive of best practice for appropriate use of police rifles.
We believe it is critical for us to have the Police Department's procedures and policies reviewed by an outside entity who can make recommendations on training to our officers to either prevent or deescalate Use of Force situations.
