WE ARE A CHAPLAINCY AGENCY WITH 500 MEMBERS WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MORE TRAINING TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY.
Due to the growth and changing demographics of our municipality - as well as the relatively inexperienced tenure of our supervisors and managers - the Tempe Police Department has recognized a great need to increase the amount of leadership and supervisory training provided to the current and future leaders of our organization.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is seeking the assistance of the National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) in procuring four SMCOV Inclusive Leadership Courses.
The Inclusive Leadership Courses are being sought to provide a comprehensive leadership training regimen for command level employees within our agency. It is intended to develop agency leaders in formulating and sustaining community outreach programs. The program strengths will complement the Blue Courage training program currently being instructed agency wide.
We would like to receive training from the National Resource Center on Justice Involved Women on gender specific case management. The Justice Grants Administration (JGA) proposes piloting a case management program inside of the Central Treatment Facility (CTF), beginning October, 2013, for women currently incarcerated for misdemeanor sentences with a minimum of 30 days in jail. The goal of the program is to reduce recidivism among women inmates, by providing case management and discharge planning.
There are now two dedicated ICIS trainers whose primary resposnsibility is to train staff in four ICIS endorsed curricula: LSI-R, MI, COG/CBT, and CCW (Collaborative Casework). Assistance is needed to provide a T4T in the LSI-R and CCW for these two trainers. T4T's in MI and COG are being provided in house. There is additionally and currently a training cadre for ICIS to provide training to staff in the four curricula although workload is a great challenge as the training cadre consists of existing staff with other primary duties and responsibilities and not dedicated trainers.
Interested in funding available for Blue Courage training. BJA NTTAC referred this request to CICP.
As a facility we are in a transitional period and are not quite sure how to move forward. We want our Jail Programs and Services to be stategically designed, and based on proven methods. Becuase of the way our inamtes are housed, treatment delivery is a challenge. There is also some resistance with our correctional staff. We do not currently have the capability to track the data that we need, nor are we sure exactly what to collect.
The Technical College Criminal Justice program sponsor an annual one day Criminal Justice conference for the community. Local, state, and federal agenices are invited to participate. The topic of interest is "Criminal Justice Leadership in the 21st century Community Policing"
Seeking greater interest and buy-in from local criminal justice partners for a range of good practices in place in other jurisdictions that we are seeking to encourage development in New Orleans.
Would like to have training on crime prevention.
