The City of Newburgh, New York Police Department requested assistance through BJA NTTAC to host T3 Trainings offered by POLIS Solutions. Polis Solutions was selected to facilitate the assistance and conducted a three day onsite visit with the agency in July 2019.

National Opioid and Emerging Drug Threats Policy & Practice Forum: Strengthening Forensic Response and Informing Public Safety and Health

The Forensic Technology Center of Excellence (FTCoE) will assist the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) in hosting the National Opioid and Emerging Drug Threats Policy and Practice Forum on July 18 – 19, 2019 in Washington, D.C. The forum will take place at the Marriott Metro Center.

An integrated and comprehensive week of memorial activities that honor the memory of the officers lost in the line of duty, and building the basis for law enforcement survivors to understand ways they can begin to rebuild their shattered lives. C.O.P.S. Survivor's Conference includes over 70 counseling and debriefing sessions facilitated by professional counselors and CISM Peer Support trained staff.

T3 Tact, Tactics and Trust offered by POLIS Solutions to include the Command Level Training, the one-day Basic Course and the three-day Train the Trainer Course.

This event will assemble leading experts in court-based responses to the opioid epidemic, including justice system practitioners, treatment experts, researchers, technical assistance providers, and federal agency representatives. The participants will explore innovative approaches from around the country, identify the unique treatment and other needs of individuals with opioid use disorders, and develop preliminary recommended practices for opioid courts and other court-based approaches nationwide.

Saginaw Chippewa Regional HTWC Refresher Feb. 2019

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan requested a refresher training for their team members regarding the Training Key Components and opioid-related topics such as MAT and substance-exposed newborns. Upon expressions of interest from neighboring tribes, including the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Indians, the Bay Mills Indian Community, the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, and the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, the training was expanded to a regional training to serve the northern Michigan-region of tribes.

This working group event, built from discussions started at the 2017 statewide workshop, provided a platform for peer-to-peer discussion about implementing law enforcement, prosecution, victim advocacy, research, and community engagement through state-level efforts. SMEs discussed recommended best practices to address these issues and viable protocols or policies that will enable sustainable reform. Other critical discussion topics included tracking and measuring progress towards SAKI goals and integrating research partners into SAKI partnerships.

On August 28-30, 2018, the Tribal Law and Policy Institute conducted the eighth annual Tribal Healing to Wellness Court Enhancement Training. The conference had thirty (30) workshops. The conference had 274 registrants (as compared to 187 registrants from last year), and 254 attendees (as compared to 173 attendees from last year). Sixty-three (63) tribal nations were represented. Out of 119 responses, 113 respondees rated the training above average or higher, with an average score of 4.61.

The National Criminal Justice Association and the National Governors Association will host Institute for State Criminal Justice and Public Safety Executives from May 21-22, 2019 in Seattle Washington. State agency administrators (SAAs) and Governors' Criminal Justice Policy Advisors (CJPAs) were invited to attend the the event which will feature a robust agenda of high priority topics, networking opportunities and discussions.
