Training Delivery - Classroom Training/Onsite

NTCRC co-directors Dr. Kristen DeVall and Dr. Christina Lanier presented at the annual Tribal Law and Policy Institute Enhancement training, which was held in Phoenix, AZ from September 18-20. The training topic was case management.

PERF received a number of TTA requests from agencies in and around the DMV. This regional training seminar was an opportunity for local agencies to discuss cross-jurisdictional violent crime challenges and strategies and for PERF, and subject matter experts, to provide training on innovative strategies and educate folks about the free resources available through this project.

The High-Risk Domestic Violence Court for Cuyahoga County, OH, received technical assistance through
the Community Supervision Resource Center (CSRC) from August 2024 to October 2024. This
memorandum outlines the requested assistance, completed activities, achievements, and considerations
for further improvement.

TASC’s Center for Health and Justice (CHJ) has been providing training and technical assistance (TTA) to the Minneapolis Fire Department (MFD) Minnesota Addiction Recovery Initiative (MARI) program since 2022. This includes facilitating bi-weekly program meetings and support for grant management, program design, planning, and implementation.

PRC staff member Teresa Stroud, along with Carmela Romero, the Associate Director of Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention, presented an in-person training at the National Symposium on Juvenile Services 2024. The National Symposium of Juvenile Services is made up of members from across the United States, primarily those providing services in county and state-run juvenile detention facilities. They hold an annual training symposium in various parts of the United States to provide training on topics impacting juvenile Justice.

Wellness Court Specialist Angie Juarez-Monger presented the newly developed TLPI veteran infographic, "Models for Integrating Veterans' Services with Tribal healing to Wellness Courts" at the 2024 NAIJCA National Tribal Judicial and Court Personnel Conference during the Native American Veterans, Veteran Justice Outreach, and Veteran Treatment Courts session.

From August 25 to August 28, 2025, the Autism Society of America team participated in a conference that featured a keynote presentation on Kevin & Avonte's Law, delivered to an audience of approximately 100 attendees. Following the keynote, a panel discussion was held focusing on wandering and related safety concerns. During the conference, the TTA team also provided first responder training and resources to approximately 60 attendees.

Between July 1 and December 31, 2024, the TTA team delivered first responder training and resources to approximately 100 attendees. The training focused on wandering and drowning prevention awareness and strategies, as well as promising practices to support Autism-informed de-escalation during field interactions. Additionally, attendees received information on locative technology to enhance safety and response efforts. All Rise referred Yurok Tribe's Foundational Training application to TLPI as TLPI would be developing a tribal-specific foundational training. A second TTA request from Yurok was also received by TLPI. Wellness Court Specialist Kristina Pacheco clarified that the TTA request was a duplicated request for foundational training. An initial planning meeting with Yurok was set for February 2024.

Outgoing State Drug Court Coordinator, Jeff Kushner, contacted Wellness Court Specialist Kristina Pacheco in late 2023 giving notice of his departure in 2024 and a request to partner with the incoming State Coordinator, Jake Lapke, for the 2024 Montana Treatment Court Conference on September 9-11, 2024 in Helena, Montana. Planning continued with Mr. Lapke and Ms. Pacheco and 2 TLPI, Montana-specific consultants; plus 1 additional TLPI consultant presented 4 Tribal sessions:
