It is estimated that over half of individuals who encounter the criminal justice system have experienced a brain injury, making this a highly prevalent concern among people in the criminal justice system and those working within the system. This session will review the recently released brief “Mind Matters: Building a Justice System That Is Inclusive and Responsive to Brain Injury” and provide key findings and recommendations for improving responses to people living with brain injury who encounter the justice system.

To offer training and support to these grantees on a national level, BJA, with the support of its technical assistance provider, The Council of State Governments Justice Center (CSGJC), will convene a Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (JMHCP) and Connect and Protect (C&P) Grantee Virtual Symposium in August 2024.

Over the next year, a team of local and state experts will be providing you with all the basics to get you and your team started with building a cryptocurrency program. We will discuss why you need to know about crypto and how current scams use it. We'll give you the basics including how it works, how to seize it, how to store it, and how to return it to victims. We will talk about how to engage with exchanges and how to read their returns. We'll provide you with best practice information and sample warrants.

This webinar explores the critical challenges faced by tribal populations during the post-incarceration and post-treatment reentry and reintegration process. We will examine issues such as cultural disconnection, limited access to resources, systemic discrimination and stigma, substance use disorders (SUDs), co-occurring mental health issues, and other significant barriers.
