The purpose of this in-person meeting was to review the progress being made with the FY21 VCR grant, its estimated close-out, and the start date for the FY23 VCR grant.
The purpose of this initial site visit meeting with Pueblo, CO Police Department (PPD) staff aimed to introduce JSS as the Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) provider and understand the agency’s ultimate goals and current status in grant implementation. PPD’s project scope has changed from their proposal. They want to change the focus to implementing a focused-deterrence approach.
The purpose of the site visit was to discuss how the VCR grant proposal could benefit from an alternative policing strategy. This strategy could potentially take full advantage of the VCR grant and provide the police department with an opportunity to develop, implement, and evaluate a neighborhood-based policing initiative (NPI).
To deliver information in quick, focused and modern methods, JSS is producing 3 to 10 minute videos on key topics of interest to the micro-grantees, such as policy development, public release of BWC videos, etc.
