The American Indian Justice Conference will provide training to tribal communities to enhance their response to alcohol and drug abuse, enable them to recognize how trauma impacts drug and alcohol abuse in tribal communities, and to identify current trends and best practices for tribal justice systems to strengthen multi-disciplinary approaches to healing and justice.

Join the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys and BJA for "Building a Successful Homicide Committee: Police-Prosecutor Collaboration in Jackson County, MO," an hourlong webinar that is part of the Capital Case Litigation Initiative webinar series. The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Kansas City Police Department have instituted a successful, collaborative homicide review process.

The California Council on Criminal?Justice and Behavioral?Health (CCJBH) has engaged the CSG?Justice Center to provide training?on mental health diversion to stakeholder groups. CSG?Justice?Center staff joined CCJBH?Executive Officer Stephanie Welch in a presentation and discussion with the Chief Probation Officers of?California (CPOC) at their quarterly meeting. The presentation included an update on AB 1810/SB 215 and an introduction to CCJBH. CPOC?members discussed the status of mental health diversion implementation in their counties and the potential roles for probation.?

The California Association of Collaborative Courts leadership requested a plenary presentation?on the Stepping Up initiative and how local collaborative courts and county leadership teams are working to address homelessness and housing needs for individuals with behavioral health needs.?

NDCRC will disseminate surveys to Tribal Healing to Wellness Staff. These surveys address the structure (e.g., funding, personnel, partnerships), operation (e.g., services offered, eligibility, decision making), and successes and challenges (e.g., adherence to or deviance from best practices; racial, ethnic, and gender disparity or equity). The purpose of the survey is to develop a current portrait of Tribal Healing to Wellness Courts including their needs and emerging trends nationally, locally (state, region), and by location type (e.g., rural, urban).
