This is an ongoing collaboration between the University of Memphis and grant partners. The CIT Center continues in contact with Steering Committee members in order to maintain consistency with technical assistance topics specific to law enforcement crisis response – the CIT model. Several discussions have occurred during this reporting period as training topics, i.e., CIT training – 40-hours or less than 40-hours. The CIT proposed curricula was in part a work product of Steering Committee members and remains within current discussions. Topical CIT discussions help to maintain unity from within the CIT committee members and promote future planning efforts as to conference workshops. The committee serves in a technical assistance capacity in efforts to build and sustain CIT programs that are structured by partnerships and are promoting local and national interest.

The CIT Center helps to initiate discussions with our Grant Partners to ensure the CIT program is meeting the needs of Technical Assistance request that comes to our attention through a varied of sources / contacts: emails, phone calls, WEB page, conferences and mail. The fast growth of CIT over the past several months has come amid a variety of reasons – grants, conferences, WEB pages and successful CIT stories. With success come demands for service and a model focus mentality to address “focus” issues, or non-focus issues as relating distractions of changing the CIT model. The National Steering Committee helps to address issues of misunderstandings of the CIT model. With WEB base services, phone contacts and other mailing services many CIT concerns have been directed to more profitable learning experience.
