The NDCRC gave an introductory presentation at the invitation of NADCP for their BJA New Grantee Orientation webinar on March 10, 2022. Co-directors Dr. Kristen DeVall and Dr. Christina Lanier reviewed NDCRC resources including operational documents, evaluation recommendations, the interactive map of treatment courts, webinars, research, Drug Court Review journal, the NDCRC newsletter, and original Justice to Healing podcast.

Webinar Title: Native Veterans Project: Protecting those who Protected Us
The Native Veterans Project is a BJA-funded project on creating a veterans clinic in
Indian Country. There is limited access to legal assistance by low-income individuals,
including veterans, appearing in tribal courts. A tribal legal clinic model will focus on
and address the needs of Native American veterans as a high volume of requests from
veterans seeking solutions to their legal issues. The clinic will use medical-legal

The Policy Project team meets monthly, to work on the planning and development of the Collateral Consequences Policy Publication. NAICJA staff meets with Consultant Amanda Whiteeagle monthly to coordinate on the project. The project will develop publication on the collateral consequences of the new tribal authorities VAWA and TLOA on justice-involved people in tribal courts.

Reached out to requestor on 1/27 for clarification on the type of training she was looking for. She specified that they were interested in receiving, " We are interested in anything related to Officer diversion training". Benjamin followed up on 2/28/22 about scheduling an intro meeting. Grantee responded stating they would like their TA Request to be closed at this time.

On 3/4/22 Grantee requested to compare their diversion program numbers and policies to another city's. Asked for: reports, policies, or procedures from other cities arrest-diversion programs. Grantee also asked if there was anyone doing diversion type programming with probation and parole on supervision violations.
