With the site taking a trauma-informed approach, IACP staff saw an opportunity to connect the site's team with the Philadelphia site's trauma-informed curriculum.
The site requested that Aqeela Sherrills provide a presentation and question & answer session for the cross-sector team.
IACP POC offered to share the link to Portland FY18's community needs assessment.
The site requested any youth crime survey examples from IACP. IACP supplied examples from both the Portland and Robeson County sites.
The Suffolk County site requested that the IACP and University of Cincinnati review and provide feedback on their Action Plan draft.
IACP POC sent the Philadelphia team a link to information on Seattle's Safe Program.
The site requested that IACP find, and forward a recording of the Reducing Violence, Restoring Confidence: A Conversation on Promoting Public Safety and Community Trust webinar. IACP staff contacted the host organization for a copy of the recording, then sent it to the site.
On 6/9/21, Matt Perkins and LeVar Michael presented at the annual LISC AmeriCorps Leadership Conference. The focus of the session was on what does justice look like for LISC AmeriCorps members and the perceptions of how justice has changed in the last year-and-a-half in light of COVID. The session also addressed the larger needs or commitments for justice reform related to returning citizens and to helping insure young people avoid the criminal justice system.
