On BJA’s request, Kerry Yerico attended an internal BJA meeting and presented on the local CGIC project. Ms. Yerico addressed the grant's history and the CGIC model. Additionally, Ms. Yerico highlighted some best practices and success stories from various local CGIC grantees.

CJI will conduct interviews to determine prosecutors' understanding, perception, and experience of the JRI process. That information will be used to increase prosecutor engagement in future JRI efforts. Pilot interviews will be conducted with two prosecutor offices. CJI and BJA will use the information gleaned from those interviews to discuss the possibility of additional study or other next steps to engage prosecutors in the JRI process.

CJI is collaborating with CSG and BJA to assess the impact of JRI. This includes conducting research withing a small number of states to demonstrate JRI impact on systems, communities, and people.

State leaders – Governors, legislators, and agency officials – play a critical role in ensuring public safety by: setting priorities, identifying policies and programs to achieve them, and allocating finite resources that impact every area of the justice system.

Members of the SLATT team attended and participated in the following national law enforcement conference:
• From April 30 – May 3, 2023, two SLATT team members attended the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies (ASCIA) Spring Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Approximately 205 ASCIA members attended the event. Numerous attendees received event-specific half cards with SLATT Program information and a QR code that links to the SLATT website and relevant SLATT resources.

BJA requested NCORJ submit a session that introduced participants to the key principles of restorative justice with a particular focus on community-based violence intervention and prevention initiatives for the OJP conference on this topic.

On January 18-19, 2023, members of the IIR SLATT team met with BJA leadership and select federal partners to discuss current and future goals and opportunities for the SLATT Program. The meeting on January 18 convened SLATT team members and BJA Senior Policy Advisor David Lewis. BJA Director Karhlton Moore and Associate Deputy Director Vince Davenport also briefly met with the team. The meeting focused the history of the SLATT program, its current state, and how the program will expand under the 2022 grant.
