Tyrina Taylor facilitated the webinar and panel discussion
on "Addressing Substance Use Disorder Among BIPOC Communities webinar".
Tyrina and I met with Philip Rutherford who will be a
panelist on an upcoming webinar on May 29. The webinar will center on substance use in the BIPOC population. Tyrina led the discussion by sharing the webinar format, potential questions, and other panelists that would be joining. Tyrina answered questions that Philip had and oriented Philip to the event.
Attended introduction webinar held by Rulo Strategies.
Discussed TTA services offered by Altarum. Informed webinar participants of ways to contact Altarum for TTA, including providing contact information and information to connect to the COSSUP portal.
Met with Rulo strategies to discuss their upcoming webinar.
Rulo asked if Altarum staff could be present during webinar to answer any peer related questions. Altarum also was asked to present a brief summary of services offered so that attendees were aware of TA available.
RTI will host at least 3 training webinars, which will be recorded, for our site-based grantees which will cover topics identified through our assessment of the collective emerging needs of the grantees.
Funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the National Center on Restorative Justice (NCORJ), in partnership with the Center for Justice Innovation (CJI), is offering a three-day in-person training opportunity (delivered at recipients’ location) to criminal justice agencies seeking to deepen their understanding of restorative justice. The goal is to educate and train the current and next generation of criminal justice leaders in restorative justice approaches. This was an informational webinar about this opportunity.

This webinar highlights how practitioners, writers, artists, and other creatives advance restorative justice advocacy and education efforts through storytelling. Examples discussed will include novels, films, case studies, theatre, and more. Attendees will consider how media and stories influence the public’s perception of justice issues and can expand public imagination.
