This webinar will touch on digital evidence, model discovery practices, and authentication. The webinar will provide prosecutors and prosecution teams in-depth overviews of the types of technologies needed to prove a complex homicide case.

The Tribal Law and Policy Institute (TLPI) and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) offered a 45-minute question and answer session hosted by Wellness Court Specialists Angie Juárez-Monger and Alyssa Harrold to offer the opportunity for tribal treatment court programs preparing to submit a FY24 Adult Treatment Court Program grant application to have their questions answered by TLPI Wellness Court Specialists and BJA Policy Advisors.

This training program is designed to help prosecutors recognize and mitigate biases that may influence decision-making in complex homicide cases, while upholding ethical standards throughout the legal process. Throughout the training, prosecutors delve into the various forms of biases that can impact decision-making, including cognitive biases, cultural biases, and implicit biases. Emphasis is placed on understanding how biases can affect case assessment, charging decisions, plea negotiations, and trial strategies in homicide cases.
