SAR Scenario Training Package: During this reporting period, IIR began drafting deliverables as part of a SAR Scenario Training Package. Refer to Objective 1 for details on the status of these deliverables. IIR held 6 internal coordination calls to discuss and refine content for the SAR Scenario Training Package, as well as 5 calls with DHS I&A and DHS NTER in furtherance of this project.

During this period, IIR provided support for the following information sharing projects. Activities and status updates for these projects are provided below.

IIR’s level-of-effort proposals and budget estimates for the following two projects were approved by DHS. Funding was identified in a second supplemental for this award, which received budget clearance on October 25, 2022.

Inquiries related to SLATT training, resources, webinars, publications, login issues, website access, and general questions.

On December 13, 2022, members of the SLATT team and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) delivered a webinar titled, Violent Extremism in the Digital Front, to criminal justice practitioners across the United States. The webinar focused on the lawful collection and analysis of social media and Internet-based communications to enhance law enforcements’ ability to detect, interdict, and prevent acts of terrorism and targeted violence. There were 401 confirmed registrants and 228 attendees at the webinar event.

• On December 9, 2022, the SLATT team delivered in-person elements of the DISRUPT training course to attendees of the Northeast Regional Intelligence Group (NRIG) annual conference, hosted in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The training consisted of a presentation titled Organized Violent Extremism at Protest Style Events, and a comprehensive overview of the SLATT Program, resources, and membership information for the secure slatt.org website.

The SLATT PROTECT virtual course is intended for patrol and frontline officers and consists of two components: (1) online content for the self-paced portion, which is available to students through the Learning Management System (LMS) within the SLATT secure website (www.slatt.org), and (2) a live Web capstone event at the conclusion of the course, which features a law enforcement terrorist attack survival story presentation; a comprehensive Terrorism, Targeted Violence, and Hate Crime Overview presentation; information on local and regional suspicious act
